2014 Midterm Elections of America and its Consequences on West Asia

2014 Midterm Elections of America and its Consequences on West Asia

Alwaght-Elections in America are being held throughout 2014, with the general elections scheduled for Tuesday, November 4, 2014.  During this midterm election year, all 435 seats in the House of Representatives and 33 of the 100 seats in Senate of America will be contested; along with 38 state and territorial governorships, 46 state legislatures (except Louisiana, Mississippi, New Jersey and Virginia four territorial legislatures and numerous state and local races.

In 2014 elections, it seems very difficult for Democrats to hold their seats, because there are a variety of limitations for their success in election, according to which the aura of public opinion is for republicans.

Republicans believe in a strong national defense.  Republicans know that defending our nation against its enemies must be a fundamental commitment of the federal government and this requires the best-trained, best-equipped, and most effective military in the world.  With

America as the world’s only superpower, Republicans believe that true security comes from the strength of character to act collaboratively, when possible, and alone when necessary.  After the tragedy of 9-11, America must be ready to fight terrorism abroad in order to prevent it at home.

In the past 10 years, Democrats have advocated for scaling down our military and reducing the money spent on military intelligence.  Democrats believe that true security comes from negotiations with foreign nations, even if they harbor or have financial ties to terrorist groups.  Democrats believe that we must ask other nations for permission before we act to protect our own security.

It is likely that republicans will be the winner of 2014 midterm elections of America.

Although both Democrats and Republicans are following belligerent and divisive policies in West Asia, it seems that the America's policy in West Asia will be more offensive by republicans' domination over Congress and Senate of America based on the republicans' critique of Obama policy in West Asia.
