Gaza: Another Palestinian Journalist Killed in Israeli Attack, Fatalities Now at 233

ALWAGHT- An Israeli strike in Gaza has claimed the life of another Palestinian journalist, bringing the total number of journalists killed since Israel launched its offensive in October 2023 to 233.

The Palestinian Journalists Syndicate reported the death of Marwa Muslim, a radio host in Gaza’s al-Shuja’iya neighborhood, found dead at her home. Earlier, photojournalist Ibrahim Mahmoud Hajjaj was killed in an Israeli airstrike near al-Zahraa School. Gaza is considered one of the most dangerous places for journalists, with many losing family, homes, and resources amid ongoing Israeli restrictions on foreign press access.

The Organization of Islamic Cooperation’s Federation of News Agencies condemned the targeted killings of Palestinian journalists by Israeli forces, calling it a violation of international law and an attack on press freedom. They urged international bodies to protect journalists working in the occupied Palestinian territories in line with humanitarian laws and agreements.

Since October 7, 2023, Israel’s military offensive on Gaza has caused massive casualties, mainly among women and children, and widespread destruction and shortages. The International Criminal Court has issued arrest warrants for Israeli leaders over alleged war crimes, while Israel faces a genocide case at the International Court of Justice for its actions in Gaza.
