ALWAGHT- Iran’s Foreign Ministry summoned Argentina’s chargé d’affaires in Tehran to lodge a formal protest over recent accusations made by the Argentine judiciary against Iranian officials.
Iran summoned Argentina’s chargé d’affaires in Tehran to formally protest recent allegations made by the Argentine Prosecutor’s Office against senior Iranian officials. Issa Kameli, Director General for the Americas at Iran’s Foreign Ministry, delivered an official note of strong objection, condemning the accusations as baseless and politically motivated.
Kameli criticized the Argentine judiciary’s actions in relation to the long-standing AMIA case, describing them as a diversion from justice influenced by individuals linked to the Zionist regime. He argued that such interference has politicized the case and perpetuated ambiguities surrounding the 1994 incident, undermining the legitimacy of the legal process.
Iran further denounced the move as a violation of international law, particularly the principles of sovereign equality and political independence. Kameli warned of legal and political consequences and affirmed that Iran reserves the right to take necessary measures to protect its national interests under international law.
