ALWAGHT- Israeli airstrikes on Sunday killed at least 23 Palestinians and wounded dozens more after targeting homes and refugee tents in Gaza.
Israeli airstrikes targeted Rafah and Khan Younis in southern Gaza, killing at least 23 Palestinians and injuring dozens. A medical source at Gaza’s European Hospital reported that an attack on the Ashour family home in Rafah’s Al-Nasr area killed eight people, while two others died in a strike on the Al-Hashash area. Four more victims were brought to the hospital after an airstrike on Al-Fukhari, east of Khan Younis, along with multiple injured civilians from attacks on homes and refugee tents.
At Nasser Hospital in Khan Younis, medical sources confirmed that nine Palestinians were killed in Israeli bombings targeting several homes. Eyewitnesses reported that at least six houses in different parts of Khan Younis were struck in recent hours. These attacks come amid an escalating Israeli aerial campaign on Gaza that has killed over 700 Palestinians and injured more than 1,000 since Tuesday, breaking a ceasefire and prisoner exchange agreement established in January.
Since October 2023, nearly 50,000 Palestinians, mostly women and children, have been killed, with over 113,000 injured in Israel’s military offensive on Gaza. In response to these actions, the International Criminal Court issued arrest warrants last November for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and former Defense Minister Yoav Gallant for war crimes and crimes against humanity. Additionally, Israel faces a genocide case at the International Court of Justice over its war on Gaza.
