ALWAGHT- The spokesperson for the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps emphasized their "determination" to retaliate against the Israeli regime for its acts of aggression, asserting that Iran will decide the timing of its response.
During a press conference on Tuesday, General Ali Mohammad Naeini affirmed that the Israeli regime will inevitably face retaliation for the assassination of Hamas political bureau chief Ismail Haniyeh.
He stated that the Zionist regime has failed to achieve any of its objectives with Haniyeh's assassination, noting that their plan has backfired, strengthening the resistance front.
The spokesperson emphasized the firm resolve to respond to the Zionist regime's various violations.
General Naeini also highlighted that the Iranian people understand that military commanders carefully consider all conditions before making a calculated decision to take effective action that will shift the enemy’s strategy.
He added, "We control the timing, and while the wait for a response may be prolonged, the Zionists must remain in a state of uncertainty, as Iran’s retaliation may differ from previous operations."
He emphasized that Iran will not resort to similar tactics in its response to Israel, noting that Iranian commanders possess the experience and expertise to "punish the enemy effectively" without acting impulsively.
"No act of aggression against Iranian targets has gone unanswered, and the enemy should expect well-calculated and precise retaliation in due course," the general warned.
Haniyeh, who was in Tehran for the new Iranian president’s swearing-in ceremony, was killed in an Israeli operation early on July 31.
Supreme Leader Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei has warned the Israeli regime of a "severe response" for Haniyeh's assassination, stating that it is the Islamic Republic's duty to avenge the Palestinian resistance leader's death.
