Alwaght- The US was considering nuclear strike against Afghanistan after alleged 11/9 terror attack on the country, a German diplomat told Spiegel magazine.
Being asked whether the US considered using nuclear weapons in response to the attack, German ambassador to India Michael Steiner, the then foreign and security policy aide to German Chancellor, told "The papers were written," adding "They had really played through all possibilities."
There was a concern in Berlin that the Americans were so shocked by the attacks, which claimed nearly 3,000 lives, which they would overreact, RT reported.
He added that he objected to Schroder's plan to express "unconditional support" for the United States, saying no nation should get carte blanche from Germany. The chancellor overturned his objections, Steiner told German-based magazine.
The alleged terror-attack became a pretext under which, the US embarked on a so-called war on terror sending its troops all around the world.
Although 3,000 people were killed and $10 billion worth of property damage were inflicted to the US, some analysts believe that the whole incident has been planned by the US officials to use this catastrophe as an alibi to justify its war on other countries.
