Alwaght- Malaysian Defense Minister, Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Hussein, rejected the news published by Saudi state news agency saying Malaysian troops have joined Saudi-led coalition against Yemen.
"The troops were only there to assist in humanitarian and evacuation missions, as there were still Malaysian students there", The Malaysian Insider.com cited Defense Minister as saying on his Twitter account last night.
Nevertheless, another Malaysia based website Therakyatpost.com quoted Armed Forces chief General Tan Sri Zulkifeli Mohd Zin as saying the sole mission of Malaysian troops in Saudi Arabia is to facilitate the safe and smooth evacuation of the remaining Malaysian citizens in Yemen.
“Two of our Royal Malaysian Air Force C-130 Transport Aircrafts will be positioned at the Forward Operating Base at Prince Sultan Air Base in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia," Malaysian website cited chief General as announcing in a press statement. "
“The Forward Operating Base has been established at the Prince Sultan Air Base in Riyadh as a ‘firm ground’ before departing to the evacuation location".
Rejecting Saudis Psychological War that Malaysia became the twelfth country to join the coalition Tan Sri Zulkifeli Mohd Zin said “Our Malaysian citizens will be evacuated and returned to the FOB for safe passage to Malaysia".
