Israel Getting Scared of ’Out of Control’ Social Media

Monday 4 July 2016
Israel Getting Scared of ’Out of Control’ Social Media

Alwaght- International Zionism stranglehold on global media outlets especially Western media came out openly at Quds Day rallies, yet the social media ,to an extent remains out of its tentacles.

Over the recent years, international Zionism has attempted in vain to gain control of the increasingly runaway social media networks. The main reason for this is that, the massive anti-Zionist global wave sweeping across virtually all social media networks is so great that any attempt to muzzle it well result in loss of substantial numbers of users.

Nations and masses, that have been denied the right to expose the Israeli usurper and child-killer regime, are now able to use the social media to ensure their voices are heard globally. Through powerful social media outlets, a movement known as BDS has been able to inflict unprecedented losses on the Israeli regime's economy by mobilizing masses to boycott the regime's products and services.

The boycott, divestment and sanctions (BDS) movement is now a widespread international movement whose success is credited to effective use of social media. There are new BDS successes and developments nearly every day.

The BDS movement has had an impact by using social media platforms such as Twitter and Facebook. BDS used a well-organized, targeted social media campaign through concentrated use of all forms of social media with a consistent, actionable message over a short period of time directed at education the massed about its goals.

Initiated by an overwhelming majority of Palestinian grassroots organizations in 2005 and inspired by the South African anti-apartheid movement, the BDS movement is now a widespread international movement despite the fact the mainstream media outlets have given the movement a blackout.

Israeli regime's media last year quoted a report by the regime's finance ministry showing the regime could lose up to USD 10.5 billion per year if a full international boycott is adopted.

This has raised alarm bells prompting Tel Aviv to institute measures aimed at controlling social media globally.

Israeli regime's minister of internal security, has criticized Facebook for what he termed as “sabotaging the work of Israeli police” and urged the regime to confront its founder, Mark Zuckerberg, “in every possible place.”

In order to pressure Zuckerberg into changing the Facebook policy guidelines, Zionists should “flood him in every possible place with the demand to monitor the platform he established and from which he earns billions,” Erdan said.

Meanwhile, Facebook says it is doing its share to remove abusive content from the social network, it said on Sunday in an apparent rejection of the Zionist regime's allegations that it was uncooperative in stemming messages that might spur Palestinian violence.

Last June, the Israeli regime said it is drafting legislation that would enable it to force Facebook, YouTube, Twitter and other social media to remove online postings on armed resistance against the regime.

"We are working on draft legislation, similar to what is being done in other countries; one law that would allow for a judicial injunction to order the removal of certain content, such as websites that incite to 'terrorism', " the regime's Judicial system Minister Ayelet Shaked said.

The Israeli regime is implementing the new measures to muzzle Palestinian resistance movement online following the ongoing Intifada or uprising of Palestinian which began in October last year after restrictions on the entry of Palestinian worshipers into the al-Aqsa Mosque compound. The mosque in occupied East Al-Quds (Jerusalem) is the third holiest site in Islam after the Holy Mosques in Mecca and Medina.

The Israeli regime blames a wave of Palestinian attacks which erupted in October last year on incitement to violence by the Palestinian leadership and on social media. Palestinian leaders say many attackers have acted out of desperation in the absence of movement towards creating an independent Palestinian state. After failing to stem Intifada in Palestine, the Zionist regime has now directed its efforts toward controlling the global social media outlets. No doubt this new move is set for dismal failure and will certainly increase the isolation of the Tel Aviv regime.
