Alwaght- Lebanon's Hezbollah resistance fighters have killed a commander of the ISIS Takfiri terrorist group at the Syrian-Lebanese border.
According to Al Manar TV, the infamous terrorist ringleader was identified as Abu Khattab and he was killed in an operation in the village of Qaa, northeastern Lebanon.
Local sources say Hezbollah fighters launched an offensive into the hideouts of terrorists in the Zuwaitinah area of Ras Baalbek killing Abu Khattab and other terrorists were also killed in the operation.
Hezbollah sources told Al Manar that Abu Khattab and his henchmen were traveling by a vehicle when they were targeted by a guided missile Abu Khattab headed ISIS terrorist group operations in the area.
The Saturday attack is part of operations carried out by Hezbollah fighters against the Takfiri threat posed by ISIS and Nusra Front terrorists.
The successful elimination of the terrorist ringleader comes a day after Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah, Hezbollah’s secretary general, vowed on Friday that the resistance fighters would work to ensure security in the Bekaa valley, where villages such as Qaa are located.
Qaa town was recently rocked by multiple suicide attacks which claimed the lives of at least five people and injured many others.
Hezbollah has been aiding Syrian forces in their fight against Takfiri militants across the Arab state over the past few years.
Lebanon has seen acts of terror associated with the militancy in Syria. ISISI and al-Nusra Front terrorists have been active on the outskirts of the Lebanese town of Arsal, located on the border with Syria.
Syria blames the Israeli regime and its Western and regional allies mainly Turkey, Qatar and the Saudi regime for aiding Takfiri terrorist groups operating inside the Arab country.
