Alwaght- Iranian security forces have arrested two ISIS Takfiri terrorists in the western part of the country.
Intelligence sources say, the two Iranian nationals with links to the ISIS terrorist group were apprehended in Hamedan province on their war to Tehran during two separate intelligence operations.
The Director General of Intelligence in Hamedan added that the security forces in the province are alert due to the fact that the province borders western frontier provinces. No further details were provided on the arrests.
Last week Iran's Intelligence minister Mahmoud Alavi said Iranian security forces have crashed over 20 terrorist groups that had planned to carry out terrorist attacks across the country over the past year.
Iran's Intelligence Minister revealed that a large cache of weapons and ammunition was recovered from the terrorists. He said Iran’s intelligence forces also arrested several teams supporting terrorist groups and uncovered hideouts where terrorist operatives were manufacturing explosives. He added that Iranian forces killed the ringleader and most members of the so-called Ansar al-Forqan terrorist group in the southeastern parts of the country
Over the past few months Iranian security forces have defused several terror plots in different parts of the country.
The Commander of Iran’s Army Ground Force assured the nation of a close watch being kept on the Takfiri terrorists across the region, stressing that the threats will be combated far away from the country’s borders.
“There is no reason for concern, since there is full intelligence dominance over the Takfiri forces in the region,” Brigadier General Ahmad Reza Pourdastan said in a recent speech.
