Iran FM, IAEA Head Discuss Framework for Potential Iran–US Deal

ALWAGHT- Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi and IAEA chief Rafael Grossi discussed the results of the latest indirect Iran–US negotiations on Wednesday.

During a phone call, Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi and IAEA Director General Rafael Grossi discussed mechanisms for drafting a structured framework to guide future diplomacy, with Araghchi stressing Iran’s focus on developing an initial, integrated roadmap for upcoming talks.

Grossi welcomed the outcomes of the February 17 meetings in Geneva and reaffirmed the IAEA’s readiness to provide technical support as negotiations move toward a formal draft, while Araghchi thanked him for his role during the Geneva discussions.

The call followed a three-hour indirect meeting in Geneva between Iranian and US negotiators led by Araghchi and Steve Witkoff, amid rising regional tensions fueled by military deployments ordered by US President Donald Trump, with Tehran warning it would respond decisively to any further military action.
