US and British Warplanes Target Yemeni Defense Ministry Amid Escalating Gaza Conflict

US and British Warplanes Target Yemeni Defense Ministry Amid Escalating Gaza Conflict

ALWAGHT- US and British warplanes have launched renewed airstrikes on Yemen's capital, Sana'a, and other areas, escalating their attacks as Yemeni Armed Forces persist in their anti-Israeli operations in solidarity with Palestinians in Gaza amid the ongoing genocide by the regime.

Yemen’s al-Masirah television network reported that US and British warplanes targeted the Yemeni Defense Ministry in the Assafi’yah district of Sana’a early Tuesday. Loud explosions were heard from the site of the strikes, but no details on casualties or damage were provided.

Yemeni Information Minister Hashem Sharaf al-Din condemned the attacks, labeling them as efforts to weaken Yemen’s resolve to support the Palestinian people. He stressed that Yemen’s military capabilities remain intact, and both the government and nation continue to stand firm against these acts of aggression.

The airstrikes occurred shortly after Yemeni Armed Forces launched a hypersonic Palestine 2 ballistic missile at an Israeli military target in Tel Aviv. Brigadier General Yahya Saree stated that the operation was in solidarity with Gaza and achieved its objectives. He affirmed that Yemen’s armed forces would persist in striking Israeli targets until the aggression on Gaza ends and the siege is lifted.

Since the war on Gaza began on October 7, 2023, Yemen has openly supported Palestine, declaring its readiness to retaliate against Israel's actions. Yemen’s forces vowed to continue their attacks as long as Israel's ground and aerial offensives persist. In the conflict, Israel has killed over 45,028 Palestinians, mostly women and children, and injured 106,962. Meanwhile, US and British forces have intensified airstrikes in Yemen, targeting locations in Hajjah and Hudaydah provinces in an apparent attempt to curb Yemen’s retaliatory operations.
