ALWAGHT- An official announced that the pilotless version of Iran’s indigenous stealth fighter jet, "Qaher (Conqueror)," has demonstrated impressive performance during flight tests.
At the 12th Iran International Aerospace Exhibition (Iran Airshow 2024), General Afshin Khajefard, managing director of the Iran Aviation Industries Organization (IAIO), provided an update on Iran’s progress in the aviation industry. He highlighted the advancements made in developing the homegrown Qaher fighter jet, noting that the jet has now been transformed into a pilotless aircraft through efforts by local experts.
The pilotless version of the Qaher warplane is currently undergoing flight tests and has shown "promising results," according to General Khajefard. This marks a significant step forward in Iran's defense capabilities, particularly in unmanned aerial combat systems.
The Qaher-313 fighter jet, first unveiled in February 2013, is a single-seat stealth aircraft capable of taking off and landing on short runways. The aircraft has been developed to enhance Iran’s air defense capabilities, with ongoing improvements in its design and performance.
In addition to the Qaher project, General Khajefard discussed plans to develop various jet trainers to achieve self-sufficiency in training the Armed Forces. He also revealed a project for manufacturing a new combat helicopter for the naval forces, designed by local experts and set to be unveiled soon. These developments reflect Iran's growing self-reliance in military equipment production, underscoring the success of its domestic defense industry in recent years.
