Russia Condemns Terrorist Attacks on Syria, Calls for Swift Stability

ALWAGHT- Russia has condemned the terrorist attacks in Syria as an infringement on the country's sovereignty.

On Friday, Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov condemned the terrorist attacks in Syria as an "assault on Syria's sovereignty," expressing hope that Damascus would quickly restore order. "We wish for Syrian authorities to resolve the situation as soon as possible," he said, according to RT.

On Wednesday, Takfiri militants led by Hayat Tahrir al-Sham launched a major offensive in Aleppo and Idlib provinces, seizing multiple areas. However, on Friday, the Arabic-language Al-Mayadeen network reported that the Syrian army had halted the terrorists' advance in southeastern Idlib and launched a counteroffensive to reclaim lost ground. Fierce battles were also ongoing in western Aleppo, and four large-scale attacks originating from Anadan, north of Aleppo, were thwarted on Thursday.

In response to the militant push, Russian and Syrian warplanes targeted militant-held areas in northwest Syria, near the Turkish border, on Thursday to disrupt the offensive.

Since 2011, Syria has been plagued by foreign-backed militancy, with Damascus accusing Western nations and their regional allies of supporting the terrorist groups. Russia, along with Iran, has provided significant assistance to Syrian forces, particularly through aerial support for ground operations against foreign-backed militants.
