ALWAGHT- Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi states that Tehran is fully prepared for a 'war situation' while actively pursuing peace in the Gaza Strip and Lebanon.
During a joint press conference in Baghdad, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi discussed Iran's preparedness for a potential war while emphasizing the country's desire for peace. Araghchi's visit to Baghdad is part of a broader regional tour, which has also taken him to Lebanon, Syria, and Saudi Arabia. He stated that although Iran does not fear war, it is focused on achieving a just peace in Gaza and Lebanon.
Araghchi emphasized that Iran does not seek to escalate tensions or conflict, but it remains ready for any situation, including war. He highlighted Iran’s firm stance of being equally prepared for war or peace. Both Iran and Iraq agree on the need to end Israel's aggression and work toward an immediate ceasefire in Gaza and Lebanon.
Araghchi explained that his meetings with regional leaders, especially in Iraq, have been centered on addressing the dangerous and sensitive issues currently facing the region. He noted that discussions were productive, with a focus on the alarming challenges in the Persian Gulf and the wider region.
He also pointed to the high risk of broader conflict, blaming Israel’s actions for the ongoing crisis that started in Gaza and has now spread to Lebanon, with the potential to affect other countries in the region. Araghchi warned that the situation could escalate into a widespread war if not addressed.
Iraqi Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein echoed Araghchi’s concerns, stating that Iraq strongly opposes any expansion of the conflict toward Iran. Hussein condemned the use of Iraqi airspace for Israeli attacks and warned that any regional war would have severe consequences for peace and security across the Middle East.
