Numerous Palestinians killed and injured in Israeli assault on Khan Younis refugee camp

Numerous Palestinians killed and injured in Israeli assault on Khan Younis refugee camp

ALWAGHT- Israeli air strikes on the al-Mawasi refugee camp near the southern Gaza city of Khan Younis have resulted in over 70 fatalities and nearly 300 injuries.

The area targeted by the strike had been designated by the regime as a supposed "safe" zone.

Witnesses report that a series of airstrikes were carried out by Israel’s F16 warplanes, hitting a camp for displaced Palestinians west of the city with over nine consecutive missiles.

The attacks, which occurred at around 10:30 a.m., initially killed dozens of civilians, who were then taken to the Nasser Medical Complex. Over 100 others were injured, some critically.

Rescue teams are still recovering dozens of casualties from the bombing sites.

Local health authorities have warned that the region's hospitals cannot accommodate the large number of casualties, as Gaza's healthcare infrastructure has been severely damaged by Israeli occupation forces.

Suhaib Al-Hams, head of the Kuwait field hospital, described the Mawasi attack as "a real massacre."

He reported numerous "severe injuries, including amputations and internal organ lacerations."

"A real disaster is unfolding now with the collapse of the healthcare system," he added.

The massacre occurred on the 281st day of Israel's genocidal war on Gaza.

According to data from Gaza's health ministry, Israeli strikes have killed at least 38,345 people in Gaza, the majority of whom are civilians.
