Alwaght- Speaker of Iranian parliament has written to the Russian counterpart, offering Iranian condolences for Moscow terrorist attack and expressing Iranian readiness to cooperate with Russia against terrorism.

"In addition to strongly condemning this horrible crime, I express my deep sympathy and sympathy to His Excellency and the honorable representatives of the State Duma, the government and the people of Russia," Mohammad Bagher Ghslibaf write in a letter to Duma chairman Vyacheslav Volodin.

He added: "As you know, the eradication of all forms of terrorism requires the collective effort of the international community and the cooperation of all countries to seriously fight terrorism as an effective strategy to achieve world peace... The Islamic Republic of Iran, in solidarity with the government and people of Russia, declares its full readiness to cooperate with all independent countries in reaching a comprehensive solution to combat this sinister phenomenon."

Gunmen went on a killing spree in a Moscow concert hall last night, killing 60 and injuring more than 100.

After the attacks, an explosion occurred inside the hall, causing a huge fire.

Condolences have been pouring to Moscow for the attack. 

Security has been tightened in Moscow and regions, with mass evens being cancelled.

Russian President Vladimir Putin was informed about the incident a few minutes after it started, Kremlin Spokesman Dmitry Peskov told reporters. The president is constantly supplied by all relevant services with information and he has given "all the necessary instructions," Peskov stressed.

The Federal Security Service said that special services were conducting a search operation. The Investigative Committee has initiated a case on a terrorist attack.

Western media claim ISIS terrorist group claimed responsibility for the attack.

The US and British embassies on March 18 had warned their citizens in Russia not to go to gatherings and malls in Moscow for risk of attacks.
