US Vetoes UN Security Council Call for Ceasefire in Israeli Regime’s War on Gaza

Alwaght- The US is the main party to the Israeli genocidal war on Gaza, said Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman Nasser Kan'ani.

Washington is one reason why the war is going on, he added, saying that the US government has been beside the Israeli regime both in words and action.

Kan'ani pointed to the American pressures on the Palestinian people and supplies of arms to the Israeli military, saying that "unfortunately, despite the passing of more than 5 months since the attacks of the usurping regime against Gaza, we are witnessing a painful inaction on the part of the international community, especially the United Nations, whose main task is to ensure international peace and security, because of the American vetoes.

He also mentioned the recent American airdropping of aids to Gaza. He said that these measures were largely a showy gesture.

"American air aid is just a show. The American veto of the resolutions prevented the adoption of the resolution that would lead to an immediate stop to the war. America sends its weapons to the Israeli regime. These show that the United States, in order to justify its belligerent policy, is trying to correct its belligerent face with some ridiculous and showy actions, as a result of which we witnessed the martyrdom of other Palestinian people," he went on.

He further said that the world public has developed awareness of the US complicity to Gaza genocide and this does not change.

Iran more than once condemned the US support for the Israeli massacre in Gaza, saying that if it was not for the American aids, the Israeli regime could not fight more than a few days.
