Alwaght- Iran reserves the right to respond to state terrorism of the fake Israeli regime in due time and place following the martyrdom of two Iranian military advisers in an Israeli airstrike near Syria’s capital, the spokesman for Iran's Foreign Ministry said on Sunday.
In a statement, Nasser Kan'ani vowed Iran's legal and political action against the Israeli regime’s criminal and aggressive acts.
Earlier in the day, Iran’s Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) said one of its military advisers, identified as Meqdad Mehqani, who had been injured in the Friday airstrike, succumbed to his wounds, becoming the second to fall victim to Israeli aggression.
Another IRGC military adviser, known as Milad Heidari, was also killed during an Israeli airstrike on Damascus, the sixth attack by the regime since the beginning of March.
The IRGC has issued a warning to the Israeli regime on Sunday, vowing retaliation for the killing of its military advisers in Syria.
Kan'ani said the martyrdom of two Iranian military advisers in the wake of “the Zionist regime’s aggressive and cowardly attack” on Syria was “part of the price of the noble Iranian nation’s endeavors in the courageous and responsible fight against Takfiri terrorism and its well-known sponsors, including the fake Zionist regime."
The Iranian spokesperson expressed sympathy with the bereaved, saying the bloods of the two honorable martyrs have not been shed in vain.
"The continuation of the attacks by the usurping Zionist regime against Syria amounts to the violation of this country’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, the violation of international laws and regulations and the continuation of strengthening terrorism," he said.
According to the Syrian news agency SANA, Israeli fighter jets entered Syrian territory from the northern occupied Golan Heights very early on Friday morning at 00:17 Damascus local time. They targeted a facility in the suburbs of Damascus.
Known as one of the main supporters of terrorist groups that have battled the government of President Bashar al-Assad since foreign-backed militancy erupted in Syria in early 2011, the Israeli regime frequently violate Syrian sovereignty and target military positions.
The targets usually include residential buildings. Military positions especially those of the Hezbollah resistance movement, which has played a key role in helping the Syrian army in its fight against foreign-backed terrorists, are also frequently hit by Israeli strikes.
Iran maintains an advisory mission in the Arab country, helping it in the face of foreign-backed terrorism. Back in 2017, the advisory assistance helped Syria vanquished the terrorist group of ISIS.
