ALWAGHT- Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian has accused the United States of complicity in what he described as Israel’s ongoing genocide against Palestinians in the besieged Gaza Strip.
Speaking at a ceremony marking World Post Day on Monday, October 12, 2026, he condemned the international community’s silence and criticized Western countries for allegedly supporting Israel through weapons supplies, resources, and political backing.
Pezeshkian accused Western governments of applying double standards on human rights, arguing that they remain largely silent over Palestinian suffering while readily criticizing Iran over alleged human rights violations. He also condemned what he characterized as US-Israeli expansionist ambitions in the region, including efforts to seize territory and control oil and other natural resources. He questioned how countries that promote democracy, humanity, and human rights could support military actions that cause widespread civilian casualties.
The Iranian president also addressed what he described as continuing efforts to undermine and force Iran into submission. He said these efforts had failed to break the country’s resolve, despite the martyrdom of the Leader and military commanders during the US-Israeli war. Pezeshkian paid tribute to those martyred in the conflict and extended condolences to their grieving families.
