ALWAGHT- Iran’s Expediency Council Chairman Ayatollah Sadegh Amoli Larijani says the Strait of Hormuz will not return to its pre-war status.
Speaking at the opening of the Expediency Council’s session on Sunday, Ayatollah Sadegh Amoli Larijani said the United States and the Zionist regime had failed to achieve their objectives, including overthrowing Iran’s government, fragmenting the country, weakening its armed forces and eliminating its missile and nuclear capabilities.
Larijani stressed that Iran’s people and armed forces remain firmly positioned around the Strait of Hormuz, asserting that the Islamic Republic retains sovereignty over the strategic waterway. He said Iran would not back down regardless of the costs involved.
He added that the Strait of Hormuz would not return to the conditions that existed before the war, saying that any demand for unrestricted navigation through the waterway would require compliance with the terms of the memorandum of understanding.
