Journalists Play Key Role in Strengthening National Unity

ALWAGHT- Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian has stressed that journalists and media professionals play a vital role in strengthening national unity and fostering social cohesion, while helping create an atmosphere conducive to harmony in society.

Pezeshkian, speaking on National Journalists’ Day, stressed the need to preserve domestic cohesion amid the current security situation following the US-Israeli war against Iran. He warned that Iran’s adversaries may seek to exploit internal divisions and discord when military pressure alone cannot force a country into submission.

The president said Iran’s security and defensive capabilities depend on the unity, steadfastness and resistance of its people. He reiterated that Tehran’s position toward the United States remains unchanged, while noting that dialogue and diplomacy have nevertheless compelled Washington to reach an understanding with Iran.

Pezeshkian also called for safeguarding diplomatic achievements, citing a recent dispute over the Strait of Hormuz and Iran’s response. He said the other side had failed to comply with commitments under the Islamabad memorandum of understanding, prompting Iran to act while efforts continue to resolve the issue through the established process.
