Over 20 Palestinians Killed in Gaza by Israeli Strikes Since Dawn

ALWAGHT- Over 20 Palestinians have been killed in Israeli airstrikes across Gaza since morning, with most strikes focused on Gaza City.

Medical sources in Gaza reported that at least 20 Palestinians were killed on Wednesday as Israeli warplanes carried out heavy strikes across the Strip. In Gaza City, six members of the al-Masri family were killed when their home was hit, while neighborhoods such as al-Zeitoun and al-Sabra witnessed intensified shelling and widespread demolitions.

Further casualties were reported in central and southern Gaza. Nine people were killed in central Gaza, including eight struck while waiting for humanitarian aid in the Nuseirat refugee camp. In Khan Younis’ al-Mawasi area, 21 Palestinians were injured when Israeli fire hit tents sheltering displaced families. The latest attacks have pushed Gaza’s overall death toll since October 2023 to more than 62,000, with over 156,000 wounded.

Meanwhile, ceasefire talks continue with mediation from Egypt and Qatar, who have proposed a 60-day truce including prisoner exchanges and expanded aid access. Hamas has agreed to the deal, while Israel has yet to respond. Egyptian officials rejected reports about disarming Hamas, stressing that the plan focuses on halting hostilities and moving toward a lasting peace. Mediators describe the moment as a critical test of Israel’s willingness to negotiate under mounting international pressure.
