Alwaght- Turkish forces on Monday shelled Kurdish forces and ISIS terrorists in northern Syria, state-run news agency Anadolu reported.
Turkish Soldiers struck ISIS position in Jerablus and struck the Democratic Union Party (PYD) positions in northern areas of Manbij. Both cities are in Aleppo province and near the Turkish border.
The PYD is a Kurdish opposition party with links to the outlawed Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK).
Turkey is concerned attempts by Syrian Kurds to extend their control along the border could add momentum to an insurgency by Kurds in its own territory, particularly after Kurdish fighters backed by the US played a major role in driving the ISIS terrorist group out of Manbij this month.
The spokesman of the Manbij Military Council, Sharvan Darwesh, told Hawar News Agency the Turkish army has shelled the front line of the YPG fighters with Katyusha rockets.
Darwesh said a number of the Kurdish militants' positions were bombarded near Sajur River north of Manbij.
NRT news website cited a senior rebel official as saying Turkish-backed Syrian militants were preparing to launch an attack to seize the Syrian town of Jarablus from the ISIS on the border with Turkey, a move which would deny control to advancing Syrian Kurdish fighters.
