Kurdish militants have breached ceasefire in the Syrian city of Hasaka hours earlier and attacked Syrian army forces.

Alwaght- Kurdish militants have breached ceasefire in the Syrian city of Hasaka hours earlier and attacked Syrian army forces.

The Kurdish forces attacked the district of Nashwa in southeastern Hasaka early on Monday, according to Reuters.

According to Syria Now website, the Kurdish fighters set fire to governmental buildings in Hasaka on Monday.

Reports also said the forces had earlier seized control of the Ghwairan neighborhood in the northeastern Syrian city.

The Syrian army and popular forces have been engaged in clashes with the Kurdish militants to thwart their acts of sabotage in Nashwa and Ghwairan since Sunday.

Even though both the Kurds and the Syrian army have been battling the ISIS terrorist group, clashes erupted between them on Wednesday.

State run SANA news agency cited the General Command as saying in a statement that "PKK actions took a more dangerous turn as the Asayish (the military wing of PKK) encircled Hasaka city, shelled it with artillery and tanks, and targeted Syrian Arab Army positions in it, claiming the lives of a number of military personnel and civilians".

The Statement blamed PKK militants for attacking state establishments, stealing oil and cotton, disrupting examinations, carrying out abductions, and causing a state of chaos and instability in Hasaka city, the capital city of the al-Hasaka Province that is located in the far north-eastern corner of Syria

It also stated that the Asayish did not respond to all the attempts that were made to contain the situation and restore security and stability to the city; instead they persisted in carrying out their crimes in a bid to seize control of the city.

Syrian Arab Army, according to SANA, in a retaliatory attack targeted the sources of artillery fire and the gatherings of PKK militants.

However, The Syrian forces and the Kurdish fighters agreed on a Russian-brokered ceasefire in Hasakah on Sunday, that was breached by Kurdish militants on Monday.
