Iran Nabs Terrorist Planning Attacks

Iran Nabs Terrorist Planning Attacks

Alwaght- Iran’s security forces have apprehended a terrorist who was on a mission to carry out attacks inside the country.

Speaking to reporters on Sunday, Iran’s Intelligence Minister Mahmoud Alavi said in a joint operation, the country’s security forces managed to arrest a terrorist element in the western part of the country on the 15th of April.

The suspect admitted that terrorist groups had sent him on a mission to carry out bombing inside Iran, but security forces managed to thwart the plot, Alavi said.

He added that the terrorist’s detention foiled plots by some countries in the region aimed at creating insecurity in Iran.

The Iranian Intelligence Ministry is probing the case to clarify more details.

Alavi added that, “by neutralizing this terrorist attack, the malicious objectives of certain regional countries to disturb Iran’s security were thwarted.”

The ministry will continue with its investigation on the detained terrorist to uncover further details of the operation.

Over the past few months Iranian security forces have defused several terror plots in different parts of the country.

The Commander of Iran’s Army Ground Force assured the nation of a close watch being kept on the Takfiri terrorists across the region, stressing that the threats will be combated far away from the country’s borders.

“There is no reason for concern, since there is full intelligence dominance over the Takfiri forces in the region,” Brigadier General Ahmad Reza Pourdastan said in an address to the Friday prayers worshippers in Tehran.

He explained that Iran’s military strategy for dealing with the Takfiri terrorists is to destroy them outside the borders, before they even take the time to approach the frontier.

Iran has already announced that if the ISIS terrorists come close to any area about 40 kilometers from the country’s borders they will be annihilated.
