Alwaght- Israeli Regime that has been largely silence on Syria crisis expresses its willingness to partition the war-torn country.
Israeli regime’s Minister for war affairs Minister Moshe Yaalon said Monday that the collapse of Syria as a functioning country is inevitable, asserting that the United Nations and the great powers need a “different grand strategy” for ending the country’s five-year crisis
Washington Times cited Ya’alon as saying that “There is no way to unify Syria…Let’s find a way to have a kind of federation of whatever..."
Ignoring Syria's integrity and sovereignty he said “We already have Alawistan led by Bashar al Assad … we have Syrian Kurdistan already. You know, Turks in the north are not happy with it, but at the end there is a Kurdish autonomy in Syria,” noting that there might also be Druze autonomy. The Druze is an indigenous community with a peculiar religious and cultural background that resides in the rugged Jabal al-Arab region in the southeast with a population of 500,000, or 3 percent of the pre-war population, according to UN data.
Ya’alon also called on the West to help Sunni groups to follow their cause in Syria as it did with Kurdish armed groups.
