ALWAGHT- Iran’s Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) Ground Force has dealt heavy blows to the Jaish al-Adl terrorist group during a counter-terrorism operation in Sistan and Baluchestan province, targeting the group’s strongholds.
Second Brigadier General Seyyed Mohammad Hosseini, Commander of the 110th Salman Farsi Special Operations Brigade, announced on Sunday that the IRGC Ground Force has significantly disrupted Jaish al-Adl’s activities through the “Martyrs of Security” campaign.
He highlighted the successful collaboration between the IRGC commando unit and other operational forces, which dismantled several terrorist cells and bases. Among the campaign’s key achievements were the detection and targeting of a safe haven deep within the country, resulting in the disruption of Jaish al-Adl’s operations. Key members of the group were identified, arrested, or eliminated, ensuring enhanced security in critical regions.
Hosseini also commended the strong synergy between tribal leaders, local communities, and the IRGC Ground Forces in combating terrorism.
Sistan and Baluchestan province, bordering Pakistan, has faced repeated terror attacks targeting civilians and security personnel. Terrorist groups operating in this area are believed to have ties to foreign intelligence services.
On October 26, ten law enforcement officers were martyred in a terrorist attack in Taftan County, claimed by Jaish al-Adl. The group, known for attacks in Sistan and Baluchestan, employs tactics like abductions of border guards and assaults on civilians and police stations to spread chaos.
