ALWAGHT- Iran's foreign minister emphasized the need for continuous dialogue between Tehran and Tokyo on regional matters, with a particular focus on developments in Syria.
Abbas Araghchi, Iran's senior deputy foreign minister, met with Funakoshi Takehiro, Japan's senior deputy minister for foreign affairs, in Tehran on Sunday.
Araghchi praised the "good and friendly" relations between Tehran and Tokyo, expressing support for discussions on bilateral ties as well as regional and global issues. He underscored the importance of ongoing consultations between the two countries, particularly in light of recent developments in the region, such as in Syria. Araqchi noted that both nations share common concerns regarding sustainable security and stability in the region.
Funakoshi, in turn, commended the longstanding relationship between Japan and Iran. He emphasized the importance of maintaining regular interaction to strengthen bilateral ties and address regional and international challenges.
