ALWAGHT- Israeli forces and gunboats launched a fierce assault on the Nuseirat Refugee Camp in central Gaza, despite designating the area as a “safe zone” for civilians.
Dozens were wounded or went missing during Friday’s attack on the Nuseirat Refugee Camp, which targeted residential buildings and the post office.
On Thursday, the Israeli military struck a residential block in the camp, killing 40 people and leaving many trapped beneath the rubble.
On the same day, an Israeli airstrike near Gaza City’s industrial area killed Palestinian photographer Shadi Al-Salfiti and another man. Additionally, Israeli forces bombed the Sheikh Radwan neighborhood, killing Professor Abdul Salam Abu Zaida, dean of graduate studies at al-Aqsa University, along with his wife.
In another attack, three people were killed when airstrikes hit two tents sheltering displaced individuals in the Qizan al-Najjar and Jourat al-Lut areas near Khan Yunis in southern Gaza.
These fatalities occurred amid Israel’s ongoing war on Gaza, launched last October in response to a retaliatory operation by Palestinian resistance movements against decades of occupation and aggression.
The conflict has claimed nearly 44,900 Palestinian lives, mostly women and children. Over the past 70 days, Israel has intensified its attacks and siege, particularly on northern Gaza, targeting cities like Jabalia and Beit Lahia.
