North Korea’s Kim Calls on Military to Gear Up for War

ALWAGHT- North Korean leader Kim Jong Un urged his country's military to pursue a 'limitless' expansion of its nuclear program to counter threats led by the US, according to reports on Monday.

Kim Jong Un addressed battalion commanders and political instructors on Friday, urging the military to focus on completing preparations for war, according to state media KCNA. He emphasized the need for all participants to work tirelessly toward significantly enhancing their combat capabilities for an actual conflict.

In his speech, Kim criticized the United States for its updated nuclear strategies with South Korea and its growing military cooperation with Japan, which he described as an "Asian NATO" that exacerbates regional tensions.

In September, Kim pledged that North Korea would "exponentially" increase its nuclear stockpile in response to what he called the "reckless expansion" of a US-led regional military alliance. He has repeatedly pointed to the United States as the primary driver behind North Korea's growing weapons arsenal.
