ALWAGHT- The Iranian Foreign Ministry condemned the military assaults by American and British forces on Yemen, labeling them a violation of the UN Charter.
In a statement released on Friday night, Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Esmaeil Baqaei vehemently condemned the US and British attacks on Sana’a and Sa’dah in Yemen, describing them as a serious violation of the UN Charter and international laws regarding the prohibition of force.
He criticized the American and British airstrikes on Yemen, along with their ongoing military and political support for the Israeli regime's actions against the Palestinian and Lebanese people, as clear evidence of their complicity in the crimes perpetrated by the Zionist regime.
The spokesman emphasized that such aggressive and reckless actions by the US and UK against the oppressed and courageous people of Yemen represent a dangerous escalation of insecurity and tension in the West Asian region, which would embolden the Israeli regime to continue its acts of genocide and warmongering, as reported by the Foreign Ministry's website.
Baqaei commended the Yemeni people's steadfast support for the oppressed peoples of Palestine and Lebanon, asserting that the attacks by the US and UK, along with the destruction of vital infrastructure in Yemen, cannot diminish the solidarity and unity of Yemenis with the resistance movements in Palestine and Lebanon.
