ALWAGHT- Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi stated that the Islamic Republic will deliver a carefully planned response to the Zionist regime in retaliation for the assassination of Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh in Tehran.
Italian Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani called Abbas Araghchi to congratulate him on his new role as Iran's foreign minister.
During their conversation, Tajani expressed concern about the growing insecurity in the region, urging all parties to exercise restraint and requesting Iran's help in reducing tensions.
In response, Araghchi highlighted recent developments in West Asia and emphasized that Iran's retaliation against the Zionist regime for the terrorist act in Tehran would be inevitable, precise, and calculated. He underscored that, unlike the Zionist regime, Iran does not seek to escalate tensions, though it does not fear them.
The two diplomats also discussed the importance of strengthening ties between Tehran and Rome and agreed on the need to continue their consultations.
Haniyeh, who had traveled to Tehran to attend the inauguration of Iran's new president, was martyred in an Israeli operation in the early hours of July 31.
Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei, Leader of the Islamic Revolution, has vowed a "harsh response" to the Israeli regime for Haniyeh's assassination, stating that it is the Islamic Republic's duty to avenge the Palestinian resistance leader's blood.
