ALWAGHT- Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi emphasized the close coordination between the country's diplomatic and military sectors in their retaliatory actions against Israel following the recent assassination of the Hamas political bureau chief in Tehran.
Speaking to reporters on Saturday, Araghchi highlighted that the ‘True Promise Operation’ conducted by the Iranian armed forces on April 14 against Israeli military targets was a prime example of the effective coordination between "the field and diplomacy." This operation was carried out in retaliation for Israel's April 1 airstrike, which killed seven Iranian military commanders and advisers in Syria.
The foreign minister described the operation as a significant success, noting that it not only responded to Israel's aggression but also prevented the broader conflict in the region that Israel had sought to provoke.
Araghchi emphasized that a similar coordinated response will occur following the Israeli assassination of Ismail Haniyeh in Tehran, reaffirming the strong alignment between the Foreign Ministry and the Iranian armed forces.
"Field operations and diplomacy are complementary," Araghchi stated. "God willing, we will continue to act in a way that fully safeguards the nation’s interests, security, and dignity."
Haniyeh, who had traveled to Tehran to attend the new Iranian president's swearing-in ceremony, was martyred in an Israeli operation on July 31.
Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei has vowed a "harsh response" to Haniyeh's assassination, declaring it the Islamic Republic's duty to avenge the blood of the Palestinian resistance leader.
