ALWAGHT- The Iranian Ministry of Interior has declared Masoud Pezeshkian the winner of the presidential election runoff, with a total of 16,384,403 votes, surpassing Saeed Jalili, who received 13,538,179 votes.
The Ministry of Interior announced the successful election of Masoud Pezeshkian as president following the final count of votes from polling stations nationwide.
Official figures show Pezeshkian secured 16,384,403 votes, compared to 13,538,179 votes for conservative candidate Saeed Jalili, making Pezeshkian the ninth president of the Islamic Republic of Iran since the 1979 Islamic Revolution led by Imam Khomeini.
Masoud Pezeshkian has enjoyed backing from the reformist coalition and its various factions since the early stages of the election.
