ALWAGHT- Fresh aerial attacks by Israeli warplanes in the Gaza Strip have resulted in the martyrdom of numerous civilians, including children, in the besieged Palestinian territory.
According to medical sources cited by the Palestinian Wafa news agency on Tuesday, 14 individuals had been martyred in an Israeli airstrike overnight on a three-story house owned by the Karaja family, located south of the Nuseirat refugee camp in central Gaza.
The report further stated that children were among the casualties of the attack, which also left several others injured.
Updated reports increased the death toll to a minimum of 20 individuals.
Simultaneously, numerous Palestinians lost their lives in Israeli airstrikes targeting the Jabalia refugee camp and the city of Beit Lahia in northern Gaza.
Residents of Jabalia reported Israeli tank advancements towards the camp.
"We are witnessing civilians running in the streets," a resident of Jabalia informed Al Jazeera, expressing, "We've been continuously displaced, unsure of where to seek refuge."
In a recent statement, UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres denounced all assaults targeting UN personnel.
Guterres emphasized, "Over 190 UN staff have lost their lives in Gaza. It's imperative to safeguard humanitarian workers."
Tragically, a member of the United Nations Department of Safety and Security was fatally wounded, and another was injured in Rafah, the southernmost city of Gaza, on Monday, when an Israeli airstrike struck their vehicle marked with the UN flag and insignia.
Farhan Haq, the deputy spokesman for Guterres, stated that the UN chief has urged for a comprehensive investigation into the incident.
