ALWAGHT- Iraq's Islamic Resistance launched a cruise missile attack on a southwestern airbase within occupied territories, in another display of solidarity with Palestine, as announced by the anti-terror coalition on Saturday.
The attack focused on the "Ramon Airbase" using an "advanced Arqab cruise missile," which houses multiple warplane and helicopter squadrons, as part of their ongoing campaign against occupation and in solidarity with Gaza.
The Islamic Resistance, a coalition of anti-terror fighters, announced their latest operation in a statement released on Saturday. This action specifically targeted the "Ramon Airbase" using an "advanced Arqab cruise missile." Presently, the airbase accommodates three warplane squadrons and two helicopter gunship squadrons.
In their statement, the Iraqi coalition emphasized that the operation aligns with their continuous resistance against occupation, support for Gaza, and retaliation against the Israeli regime's atrocities towards Palestinian civilians, including children, women, and the elderly. Since October 7 of the previous year, the group has conducted numerous operations against the occupied territories, prompted by the Israeli regime's genocidal war on the Gaza Strip.
The toll from the Israeli war is staggering, with reported casualties including at least 34,971 deaths and around 78,641 injuries. Additionally, approximately 7,000 individuals are still missing, underscoring the severity of the military assault.
Concluding their statement, the Iraqi resistance reiterated their determination to consistently target the enemy's strongholds. Qais al-Khazali, secretary-general of the Asa’ib Ahl al-Haq movement, a component of the Iraqi resistance, underscored the group's preparedness for warfare against the occupying regime. He emphasized that the resistance factions have assumed the responsibility of addressing the Palestinian issue, thereby relieving the Iraqi government of any military obligations in this regard.
