Enemy Cannot Remove Iran from Global, Regional Equations: IRGC Cmdr.

Alwaght- Major developments in Iran have been made under the Western sanctions, commander of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps j(IRGC) General Hussein Salami said on Thursday.

He made the comments at an opening ceremony of a modern surgery section of an IRGC-run hospital in Golestan province north of the country.

"All our remarkable progress happened in the era of sanctions and we were able to achieve great achievements during the sanctions period and people turned the threat of sanctions into an opportunity," he was quoted as saying by Fars News Agency.

He went on saying that "economic embargo was a very dangerous reality and when people realized that this reality stems from the impure nature of our enemies, they stood up against it and turned the risks of the embargo into an opportunity for progress."

He said that in all these breakthroughs, the people have been a central element.

He also lauded people's political participation, saying that in Iran the people are the ultimate decision makers.

The "enthusiastic presence of the people in the big political scenes makes all the enemies reconsider their calculations," he held when calling for high turnout in the March 1 parliamentary elections.

"We cannot stop at any point and stop equals falling and people understand that participation in the political process is a big deal," he noted

He referred to the relation of confidence between the government and people, adding: "We have complete trust in our people, we have hope and we know our people, and as a small soldier in this society, I see no honor for myself but to serve the people. I tell people to turn out for vote on Friday and make a new stunning show."
