The Foreign Minister of the Islamic Republic of Iran stressed that Lebanon's security is equal to the security of Iran and the region. He remarked that ongoing American support for the Zionist regime and Netanyahu will inevitably lead to failure.
Hossein Amir-Abdollahian, Iran’s Foreign Minister, upon arrival at Beirut's Rafic Hariri Airport - Friday, February 9th - among reporters, stated: "Four months after the Gaza genocide, today we observe that Israel has failed to achieve any of its objectives. What we witness is the outcome of Palestine, Lebanon, and the region's resistance."
He emphasized that the leaders of resistance in Palestine and Lebanon acted with foresight and wisdom, remarking: "Today, we see the victorious Palestinian resistance presenting a political plan under the name of Hamas." We explicitly conveyed to America not to support the Zionist regime in the Gaza and West Bank atrocities. Since the onset of the Gaza crisis, we have consistently asserted that war is not the solution.
The Foreign Minister further stated: "Continued American support for the Zionist regime and Netanyahu will inevitably lead to failure. The Zionist regime aims to drag America into the Middle East war quagmire alongside itself."
Amir-Abdollahian emphasized the immediate termination of America's support for the Israeli regime responsible for massacring children and committing genocide. He highlighted the practical and influential deterrent role played by Hezbollah and the Lebanese resistance.
He also expressed greetings to all martyrs of the Palestinian resistance, particularly those in Lebanon, and conveyed warm regards from Iran to the Lebanese army, people, and government.
He concluded by noting: "Iran will continue its strong support for the resistance and Lebanon. We consider the security of Lebanon as the security of Iran and the region."
Throughout this journey, Amir-Abdollahian will convene with prominent Lebanese officials and leaders of regional resistance factions to address key issues. These include halting the Zionist regime's atrocities in Gaza, lifting the siege, establishing conditions conducive to a ceasefire, extending aid to Gaza's populace, and managing the region's dynamics in the post-war period.
Beirut serves as the starting point for Amir-Abdollahian's latest regional endeavors, where a range of topics will be discussed between the parties involved.
This visit marks the Foreign Minister's third trip to Lebanon since the onset of the Zionist regimes attacks on Gaza over the past four months.
