Alwaght- The only parties that are dismayed at the promotion of cooperation between Iran and Saudi Arabia are the enemies of Muslims, above all the Zionist regime, Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi said.
In a meeting with Foreign Minister of Saudi Arabia Faisal bin Farhan Al-Saud, held in Tehran on Saturday, Raisi welcomed the re-establishment of relations between the two important and influential countries of the Muslim world.
He pointed to the Hajj season and the presence of Muslims from all over the world in the land of revelation, saying, "The interests of the two nations are in dialogue and interaction between Tehran and Riyadh."
Emphasizing the Iranian government's neighborhood policy and that the Islamic Republic of Iran does not see any obstacles to the development of relations with Islamic countries, Raisi stated, "Only the enemies of Muslims, and the Zionist regime at the head of them, are upset with the development of bilateral and regional cooperation between Iran and Saudi Arabia."
There are various issues and problems in our region that have become the cause of issues for the Islamic Ummah, the president said, noting, "With cooperation and dialogue between the countries of the region, these problems can be overcome, and there is no need for outsiders to interfere in this direction."
Raisi referred to the successful experience of Iran in the fight against terrorism and the annihilation of Takfiri groups and added, "The results and experiences of this successful fight are among the issues that can be the focus of cooperation between the two countries."
“The Zionist regime is not only the enemy of the Palestinians, but also it is a threat to all Muslims, and the normalization of relations of some countries with this regime not only does not create security, but is also against the opinion of the Islamic Ummah,” the president added, his official website reported.
For his part, Faisal bin Farhan expressed satisfaction with the establishment of relations between the two Islamic countries and his trip to Tehran, saying, "We are in a golden stage that we should appreciate, and cooperation with the Islamic Republic of Iran provides the opportunity to benefit for both parties and the region."
Referring to the order of the King of Saudi Arabia to form various commissions to develop relations with Iran, the Saudi foreign minister referred to his country's efforts to upgrade relations to a strategic level and added, "Economic, developmental and cultural cooperation is on the agenda of Tehran and Riyadh."
Some countries in the world do not want the region to achieve peace and progress, Faisal bin Farhan warned, noting, "With the development of the current interaction between Iran and Saudi Arabia at the level of all Islamic countries, endless achievements will emerge, and guarantee that no foreign country can interfere in our region.”
