Alwaght- Israeli warplanes launched airstrikes on Gaza Strip late on Saturday, a serious escalation by Tel Aviv since May 11-day war against the Palestinian enclave.

Reuters reported that the attacks followed gunfire between the Israeli forces and Palestinian groups.

The border clashes followed a Gaza rally near the border in solidarity with the Palestinians of Al-Quds (Jerusalem) who are being expelled from their homes by Israeli security forces in a clearing campaign.

Palestinian media reported that in early morning today a huge blast rocked the center of Gaza city.

Some sources suggested that the main target was a refugee camp while others suggested the main target was a site belonging to Hamas Movement in Aryan neighborhood in downtown Gaza, attacked with 3 missiles.

Reuters said that at least 41 Palestinians were injured, two critically.

Al-Mayadeen news network reported that after the first attacks, next attacks were launched at Al-Nasirat in Gaza.

Palestinian groups warned Tel Aviv of firm response. In a statement, the spokesman told the Israeli leaders they should not make a mistake and they should not think that Hamas is weak.

Israeli newspaper Yedioth Ahronoth reported that Israeli Iron Dome anti-missile units were put on high alert as the Israeli leaders expect a response from the Palestinian side.

In May, a war erupted between the two sides as Hamas responded to an Israeli campaign to force the Palestinian civilians out of their homes in Al-Quds as part of a campaign of Judize the city.
