Alwaght- Syria has rejected a UN proposal to establish an autonomous region for US-backed terrorists in east Aleppo (Halab).
Syrian Foreign Minister Walid Muallem said Damascus could not agree to the idea floated by the UN's peace envoy Staffan de Mistura, who held talks in Syria on Sunday.
"He talked about an autonomous administration" in east Aleppo, Muallem said after meeting with de Mistura. "We told him that we reject that completely." "How is it possible that the UN wants to reward terrorists?" he asked.
The Syrian Foreign Minister added that, “We have not seen any desire from de Mistura to resume Syrian-Syrian dialogue. Perhaps he is waiting for a new administration in the United States or a new leadership at the United Nations”.
“Syria believes in a role by the United Nations that respects its Charter and the sovereignty of member states.”
Balkanization of West Asia
The proposal by de Mistura is the clearest official indication that the UN is clearly an of US-led Western interests of balkanizing Syria and other countries in the West Asia region.
The blatant proposal by de Mistura is in effect an official announcement by the UN that it recognizes terrorist and is giving them legitimacy by demanding that the be granted autonomy in an area they occupy. Eastern Aleppo is occupied by foreign-backed Takfiri terrorist group known as the Fateh al-Sham Front, formerly known as al-Nusra Front, is the official al Qaeda affiliate in Syria. The group has been changing names as part of a plow by Western countries to brand it a ‘moderate’ rebel group.
The UN has been showing great ‘concern’ and issuing humanitarian statements on the situation in eastern Aleppo but ignoring real human rights violations and war crimes in Yemen, Iraq, Libya, Egypt’s Sinai region, occupied Palestine and other parts of Syria.
The UN is clearly using the presence terrorist groups to front imperialist and colonial interests of Western countries.
De Mistura’s suspicious proposal for granting autonomy to eastern Aleppo is a clear violation of the United Nations on the sovereignty of member states.
UN Double Standards
Double standards applied by the UN have clearly come out in de Mistura’s proposal with terrorists now taking the place of victims just as is the case with Palestine where thousands of Palestinian children are tortured to death in notorious Israeli regime detention centers. The UN has become a spectator of this and other crimes and atrocities committed by the brutal Israeli regime while branding Palestinian resistance and freedom fighters as terrorists.
The same double standards policy is being repeated in Syria’s Aleppo where the UN is now a scandalous toll in the hands of colonial powers bent on dismembering the war-torn country. This global body has trampled upon all international conventions and charters and is now demanding that terrorists be given official autonomy in eastern Aleppo.
UN Imposing Terrorists
The UN is backing autonomy in eastern Aleppo while majority of the residents in the have been protesting against the terrorists group that is supposed to be handed administrative duties.
In the most recent protest last Thursday, Fateh al-Sham Front terrorist group killed over 17 people and abducted several others who were later executed after hundreds of civilians trying to leave eastern Aleppo protested against the groups blockade of exit routes.
Some 500 civilians took part in several protests in the terrorists-occupied eastern part of Aleppo on Thursday, and at least 200 of them were trying to reach the Syrian government-controlled area at the time they were violently dispersed with live fire, Russian Defense Ministry spokesman Igor Konashenkov said.
De Mistura is surprisingly proposing an autonomous region in eastern Aleppo to be administered by a terrorist group which is greatly weakened and on the verge of defeat by the rapidly advancing Syrian government forces and its local allies.
Foreign-backed terrorists occupied the eastern part of Syria's second city in 2012, and its imminent liberation will be a major strategic victory against the Takfiri terrorists who have been wreaking havoc and committing atrocities in the country’s deadly five-year conflict.
