Alwaght- Iran's Ground Forces commander says the Islamic Republic’s strategy is to destroy ISIS Takfiri terrorists and other terrorists groups before the come near the country's borders.
Speaking on Sunday, Commander of the Iranian Army's Ground Forces Brigadier General Ahmad Reza Pourdastan pointed out that terrorist groups such as ISIS stem from the ideology of Islamophobia and destroying them across the borders is a major strategy for the Islamic Republic.
Brigadier General Pourdastan has also revealed that Iran has defined a 40-kilometer perimeter around its borders as a red line, warning that any attempt by terrorists to cross the line will be met with a firm response.
The Iranian commander added that terrorist groups are supported by the global arrogance led by the United States in their plots to spread sectarian conflicts in the region. He further warned that the global arrogance is attempting to suck Iran into this scenario.
Brigadier General Pourdastan emphasized that the Iranian Armed Forces need to engaged in concerted efforts to defeat plots being planned by the country's enemies/.
He stated that the main responsibility for the Iranian Armed Forces is to maintain unity and follow the guidelines of the Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei.
“We should also monitor threats in all areas and create defensive capacities in proportion to them,” the commander pointed out.
Several day back, Iranian security forces have arrested two ISIS Takfiri terrorists in the western part of the country. Intelligence sources said, the two Iranian nationals with links to the ISIS terrorist group were apprehended in Hamedan province on their war to Tehran during two separate intelligence operations.
Last month, Iran's Intelligence minister Mahmoud Alavi said Iranian security forces have crashed over 20 terrorist groups that had planned to carry out terrorist attacks across the country over the past year.
He revealed that a large cache of weapons and ammunition was recovered from the terrorists. He said Iran’s intelligence forces also arrested several teams supporting terrorist groups and uncovered hideouts where terrorist operatives were manufacturing explosives. He added that Iranian forces killed the ringleader and most members of the so-called Ansar al-Forqan terrorist group in the southeastern parts of the country
Over the past few months Iranian security forces have defused several terror plots in different parts of the country.
