Iraqi Forces Destroy Eight ISIS Positions in Fallujah

Alwaght- The Iraqi Air Force has successfully bombed and destroyed eight strategic positions of the ISIS terrorist group southwest of Fallujah city in the Iraqi province of Al Anbar.

On Saturday the commander of Anbar Operations Major General Ismail al-Mahalawi announced that, “The Iraqi Air Force backed by the army’s 8th brigade managed to bombard eight ISIS headquarters in Albu Eifan area southwest of Fallujah.”

“The bombardment resulted in the destruction of the headquarters, as well as killing all the terrorists inside these headquarters,” Mahalawi added.

Meanwhile, the Iraqi Air Force has destroyed an ISIS oil convoy in the northern Nineveh province, dealing a severe blow the Takfiri terrorist group’s oil sales.

On Friday, Iraqi warplanes targeted 20 tanker trucks, loaded with crude oil, in the Qayyarah oilfield, located on the west bank of the Tigris river, Arabic-language al-Sumaria news website reported, citing an unnamed security source in the province.

According to the report, the airstrikes completely destroyed the convoy and caused a huge fire, whose thick and black smoke darkened the sky. At least eight terrorists were killed in the attack and eight others sustained injuries.

Elsewhere on Saturday, a security source in Kirkuk Province announced, that 15 members of the ISIS terrorist group were killed in artillery shelling carried out by the Peshmerga forces northwest of Kirkuk.

The source said in a statement received by IraqiNews.com, “The Peshmerga forces shelled ISIS gathering near al-Atshana village in Dibs District, using artillery and rockets.”

The source, who asked anonymity, added, “The security forces continue to bomb the areas controlled by ISIS to prevent the advance of its fighters toward the Peshmerga forces’ areas.”

The notorious ISIS terrorist group captured northern and western parts of Iraq in June 2014 including Mosul, the second largest city of Iraq and the provincial capital of Nineveh.

The terrorists have been committing heinous crimes against all ethnic and religious communities in Iraq, including Shiite and Sunni Muslims, Christians and Yazidis. Iraqi army soldiers and fighters from allied Popular Mobilization Units have over the recent past made progress in joint operations against the Takfiri terrorist group.
