Malaysia Rejects Military Involvement in Saudi Coalition

Alwaght- Malaysia has reiterated it is not involved in any Saudi-led military coalition amid claims by Riyadh that the Asian Muslim nation is party of the controversial alliance.
Malaysian Defense Minister Seri Hishammuddin Hussein has said he will be seeking clarification from the Malaysian Armed Forces whether Malaysian military personnel are involved in a Saudi Arabian military mission.
He said Malaysia supported efforts to eradicate terrorism in terms of doctrine and ideology, but not from a military standpoint.
“I have stated from the beginning that we are not involved militarily,” he said when commenting on Saudi Arabia's state news agency SPA's report claiming that Malaysia was participating in a massive military mission, deemed “critically important” together with about 20 other countries.
"Military training does not mean we are directly involved in operations. Besides, I will not allow it... as to what was reported today (by SPA), I have not seen the extent of involvement in the training," he said.
Prior to this, the minister had stated that Malaysian troops have been sent to Saudi Arabia for training purposes.
Saudi regime’s media has hyped up reports that troops from 20 countries are to gather in the kingdom for a military exercises lasting 18 days.
Some of the countries participating in the Saudi military exercise include Indian Ocean Comoro Islands with a minute army of 500 personnel and armies from conflict-ridden countries such as Sudan and Chad.
