Russian FM: NATO Breaks Protocol in Debating Strikes on Russia

ALWAGHT- The North Atlantic Alliance has abandoned all diplomatic norms by openly discussing the possibility of preemptive strikes on Russia, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov stated.

"NATO Military Committee Chair Rob Bauer recently stated that defending member states of the North Atlantic Alliance requires targeting sites in Russia deemed a threat to the bloc. This blatant declaration of their true intentions disregards all diplomatic norms," Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov remarked at the 20th meeting of security and intelligence chiefs from Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) countries, as reported by TASS.

Bauer had earlier urged increased production of precision weapons for potential strikes inside Russia should a conflict arise.

On November 21, Russian President Vladimir Putin revealed that US- and UK-manufactured missiles had been used to attack military sites in Russia’s Kursk and Bryansk regions. He attributed these attacks to the authorization by the US and NATO allies for the use of long-range weapons against Russia. In response, Russia deployed its new Oreshnik non-nuclear hypersonic intermediate-range ballistic missiles to target the Yuzhmash defense facility in Ukraine's Dnepr (formerly Dnepropetrovsk).

Putin warned that Western provocations could further escalate the conflict, potentially leading to severe consequences for those pursuing such a policy.
