Resistance Groups Praise Hezbollah’s Resilience as a Ceasefire Begins

ALWAGHT- Iraq's anti-terror group Kata'ib Hezbollah praised the ceasefire agreement between Israel and Lebanon, stating it was made possible by the unwavering resolve of Hezbollah's fighters.

Kata'ib Hezbollah issued a statement on Wednesday, hours after the ceasefire between Israel and Lebanon took effect, ending nearly 14 months of conflict. The group hailed the agreement as a "purely Lebanese decision," emphasizing that any pause in action by regional resistance groups would not weaken their unity but instead strengthen the resistance front with new allies.

The statement accused the United States of being complicit in Israel's crimes of murder, destruction, and displacement, warning that it "must pay the price" for its actions. Kata'ib Hezbollah also reaffirmed its unwavering support for the Palestinian cause, pledging to stand with Gaza despite the sacrifices required. “We remain resolute against the threats and crimes of the enemy, committed to aiding the believers,” the group declared.

The ceasefire, which began at 04:00 local time (0200 GMT) on Wednesday, mandates the withdrawal of Israeli troops from southern Lebanon and the deployment of the Lebanese army in the region. Israel’s campaign, launched in late September, aimed to eliminate Hezbollah's presence in southern Lebanon and restore northern settlers’ safety but failed to achieve its goals.

Far-right Israeli minister Itamar Ben-Gvir criticized the agreement, claiming it fell short of its objectives, while opposition leader Yair Lapid accused Netanyahu’s cabinet of being “dragged” into the truce as northern towns were devastated and the military exhausted.

Yemen's Ansarullah movement also praised Hezbollah's resilience, attributing the ceasefire to the steadfast resistance that countered Israel's aggression. Ansarullah spokesman Mohammed Abdul-Salam commended Hezbollah's strategic operations, which he said forced Israel and its US backers to agree to terms that safeguard Lebanon's security and sovereignty.
