Erdogan: ICC Warrant Enforcement Vital for Global Trust

ALWAGHT- Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan praised the ICC's arrest warrants for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and former Defense Minister Yoav Gallant, emphasizing that their enforcement is vital to restoring trust in the international system.

Speaking at the fourth International NGO Fair in Istanbul on Saturday, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan commended the International Criminal Court's (ICC) arrest warrants for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and former Defense Minister Yoav Gallant. He underscored that implementing these rulings is crucial to rebuilding humanity's trust in the international system.

Erdogan criticized nations supporting the Tel Aviv regime, accusing them of "fueling atrocities" while hypocritically lecturing others on democracy and human rights. He condemned international organizations and Western media for ignoring Israeli forces' crimes against humanity in Palestine, Lebanon, and beyond.

“The blood of those martyred and injured in Palestine stains not only their killers but also those who fail to stop them,” Erdogan stressed, urging solidarity among Muslim nations to combat aggression and oppression collectively. He reiterated his hope for an independent Palestinian state with East al-Quds as its capital.

The ICC's arrest warrants accuse Netanyahu and Gallant of intentionally depriving Gaza's civilian population of necessities and holding them criminally responsible for war crimes and crimes against humanity during the ongoing conflict.

Israel’s offensive on Gaza, launched on October 7, 2023, in response to Hamas's Operation Al-Aqsa Storm, has resulted in over 44,176 Palestinian deaths—most of them women and children—along with 104,473 injuries. Thousands remain missing, buried under rubble.
