ALWAGHT- The spokesperson for the Iranian Foreign Ministry condemned the Israeli regime's military assault on the peacekeepers of the UN Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL).
Esmaeil Baqaei, the spokesperson for the Iranian Foreign Ministry, condemned the Israeli regime's deliberate attack on UNIFIL, calling it another instance of the lawless and callous actions of a regime that has killed over 220 UN staff members in the past year. He made these remarks in a post on his X account on Friday evening.
He criticized the Israeli envoy to the UN for violating the UN Charter, stating that the Israeli foreign minister has declared the UN Secretary-General persona non grata, while the warmongering prime minister has used the UN General Assembly platform to threaten other nations.
Baqaei emphasized, "The world community must stand against this evil."
On Friday, the United Nations peacekeeping force in southern Lebanon reported that its headquarters in Naqoura was struck by explosions for the second time in 48 hours, following an Israeli attack on the same location. Two UNIFIL peacekeepers were injured in the blasts near an observation tower.
