Hezbollah Launches Ballistic Missile at Tel Aviv for the First Time

Hezbollah Launches Ballistic Missile at Tel Aviv for the First Time

ALWAGHT- Hezbollah announced that it has fired a ballistic missile at Tel Aviv for the first time, causing sirens to sound throughout the city.

Hezbollah announced the launch of a "Qader 1" ballistic missile aimed at the Mossad headquarters in the suburbs of Tel Aviv early Wednesday. This prompted the activation of Israel's Arrow anti-ballistic missile system, sending residents in Tel Aviv and surrounding areas, including Netanya, to take shelter.

In a statement, Hezbollah said, “In support of our steadfast Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip, to back their courageous and honorable resistance, and in defense of Lebanon and its people, the Islamic Resistance launched a 'Qader 1' ballistic missile at 6:30 a.m., targeting the Mossad headquarters in the suburbs of Tel Aviv.”

The group alleged that the Mossad headquarters played a role in "the assassination of leaders and the detonation of pagers and radio devices." Since early October, Hezbollah and Israel have been engaged in intense exchanges following Israel's offensive in Gaza, which has been described as genocidal.

Previously, Hezbollah claimed responsibility for an attack on the Israeli Ilaniya military base in the northern occupied territories using Fadi-1 rockets, asserting that the base is linked to the Israeli military's Northern Command. In another operation, the group reported firing 90 rockets at the Dado base near Safad, which serves as a headquarters for the Northern Command.

Additionally, Hezbollah stated that it utilized attack drones to target the headquarters of Israel’s Special Naval Task Force at the Alit Base near Haifa, achieving "direct hits" on Israeli positions. The group has pledged to continue its assaults as long as Israel persists with its military operations in Gaza, which Palestinian sources report have resulted in over 41,467 fatalities, primarily among women and children. Despite the escalating conflict, Hezbollah officials have indicated that they do not seek a full-scale war with Israel but remain prepared for such a scenario. Israel has previously engaged in two wars against Hezbollah in Lebanon, in 2000 and 2006, both of which ended with Israel's withdrawal due to strong resistance from the group.
